Some
harpists like fluorocarbon strings better so the alternate Savarez fluorocarbon
string specification is given in the third column. These strings are roughly $180 more than
nylon. Most of these harps were
originally equipped with Nylon strings from
A
.025 Nylon string is a monofilament nylon, 0.025 inches
in diameter. The Bass strings #23G to #36 A are called wound or composite
strings. For example, string #30
(.022/4/.008 SFB) is made with a .022” diameter Steel core, #4 bundle of
fibers overwrapped with a .008 diameter bronze or copper winding. SFN indicates a string that is made with a
Steel core, fiber bed and nylon overwrap.
NN indicates the string is made with a nylon core with a nylon wrap When ordering these strings, you can simply
provide the string maker with a link to this page, specifying the strings you
need.
