A
.025 Nylon string is a monofilament nylon, 0.025 inches
in diameter. The Bass strings #23G to #36 A are called wound or composite
strings. For example, string #30
(.022/4/.008 SFB) is made with a .022” diameter Steel core, #4 bundle of
fibers overwrapped with a .008 diameter bronze or copper winding. SFN indicates a string that is made with a
Steel core, fiber bed and nylon overwrap.
NN indicates the string is made with a nylon core with a nylon wrap. For wound and composite strings, the string
maker also needs to know the length.
When ordering these strings, you can simply provide the string maker
with a link to this page, specifying the strings you need.
